Miroslav Holub was born in the erstwhile Czechoslovakia in 1923. His poems are known for their sharp sarcasm and wit. Holub's poem bring out the misery of old age and human suffering. His poems were published only after Czechoslovakia gave up communism. Some of his poems are translated in Hindi.

In his brief life of less than 50 years, Ramkrishna Jha 'Kishun' enriched Maithili literature. His made significant contribution to Maithili poems inspiring a number of literary persons of the era.
