सैयद शमशुल हक (1935-2016) बंगलादेश के अग्रणी कवि, हैं। उनकी रचनाओं में आधुनिकताबोध के साथ ही बंगलादेश की सांस्कृतिक विरासत की गंध पिरोयी होती है। उन्होंने कविता, नाटक और उपन्यास के साथ ही अनेक विधाओं में रचनाएं की। ये कविताएं सैयद शमसुल हक के काव्य संग्रह पोरानेर गहीन भीतोर के अंग्रेजी अनुवाद से ली गयी हैं। अंग्रेजी अनुवाद प्रोफेसर सोनिया अमीन ने किया है। उनकी दस कविताओं का अनुवाद अंग्रेजी से हिंदी में दो खंडों में किया गया है। पहला खंड।

Otto Rene Castillo (1936-67) was a Guatemalan revolutionary, a guerilla fighter, and a poet. After the coup in Guatemala, he went in exile to El Salvador where other revolutionaries helped him publish his poems. His poems exude revolutionary fire while tender feelings of love and compassion also enrich his poetry. He was brutally burnt to death in the course of his guerrilla fight against the government in Guatemala in 1967. Three of his poems are translated here in Hindi from English.

Zeyar Lynn (b. 1958) is a Burmese poet, critic and translator.He is a leading figure of post modern poetry in Myanmar.Lynn has propagated "poetry from the head" as opposed to that from the heart. He has published more than twenty collections of poetry and essays. He is considered a major influence on the new generation of Burmese poets. He has also translated poets such as Wisława Szymborska, Tomas Tranströmer, John Ashbery, Sylvia Plath, and Charles Bernstein into Burmese
Miroslav Holub was born in the erstwhile Czechoslovakia in 1923. His poems are known for their sharp sarcasm and wit. Holub's poem bring out the misery of old age and human suffering. His poems were published only after Czechoslovakia gave up communism. Some of his poems are translated in Hindi.

In his brief life of less than 50 years, Ramkrishna Jha 'Kishun' enriched Maithili literature. His made significant contribution to Maithili poems inspiring a number of literary persons of the era. His two poems are translated here from Maithili into English. The poems display a deep existential angst searching for the meaning of life.
Muslims of Bengali origins are called Miya in Assam. These people have been at the receiving end of violence and exclusion. They have suffered violence and social discrimination over. long period of time. It gave rise to a protest literature, especially poetry called Miah Poetry. In recent times, after the NRC process got under way, the issues confronting this section of Assamese society became even sharper. A new breed of hard hitting poetry emerged which was popularised by the Social Media. The poems bring out the deep anguish and alienation of Miyas of Assam. The political element of resistance poetry however does not in any way diminish its poetic aesthetics. Translation of Miyah poetry into Hindi has been done in a series of three blogs. Baba Nagarjun is counted among the greatest poets of modern India. He wrote in Maithili, Hindi and Bangla. His original name was Baidyanath Mishra to which he added 'Yatri'.
This poem is a searing indictment of the orthodox religious mindset which privileges the other world over what is real, this world. The poet says, 'the Shruti is false, so is Smriti,
false are the Puranas and the sacred books,
fasting and penance are false,
false is the history of the kings and the rulers.'
It is a long but powerful poem. Perhaps he would have been lynched if he wrote today! That is why his poems need to be read in as many languages as possible. Here is the English Translation of his Maithili poem Param Satya
